The Rekeep Group pursues its growth in France, now in the healthcare sector too

Awarded the contract for the cleaning and bio-cleaning services in the Versailles Hospital Centre.

The Rekeep Group announces the award of a contract concerning cleaning and bio-cleaning services at the nine facilities in the Versailles Hospital Centre at Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt in southern Île-de-France.

The Contract, which has a two-years duration with the possibility of renewal for a further 24 months, has a total valure of more than Euro 8 million and includes cleaning and bio-cleaning of the Hospital Centre’s premises and windows, as well as associated services.

The order is strategic for Rekeep as it confirms the Group's foreign growth, in line with the international development path that the Group has recently been following, in one of the most promising sectors in France. Specifically, the contract represents another step forward in healthcare support services, in which the Rekeep Group already earns about 60% of its consolidated turnover with more than 500 facilities served in Italy, Poland and now France. The award further boosts the Group’s activities in France, representing a new order in the country after a number of important contracts awarded by SNCF for soft facility management services on the lines of the Montrouge section and in 14 stations in Normandy, and after the contract awarded by RATP for cleaning services in the main Paris metro stations.

The contract is also another demonstration of Rekeep’s very high competence in the management of healthcare sector cleaning services: the Group was chosen, in fact, on the basis of a customised and innovative offer, capable of structuring and providing a series of eco-responsible bio-cleaning solutions, such as the use of water-based detergents or an activity tracking solution, accessible in real time by the customer.

The Versailles Hospital Centre is a public healthcare facility that supports the Yvelines Sud GHT (Groupement Hospitalier du Territoire, Local Hospital Group). The Centre covers an area of approximately 47,828 square metres, offering 28 different medical services and managing 78,000 A&E visits per year, 8,800 surgical procedures in operating theatres, 3,200 deliveries and 267,000 outpatient visits. Equipped with 800 beds and 2,982 healthcare workers, the Versailles Hospital Centre is also certified by the HAS (Haute Autorité de Santé, French Health Authority).

The Versailles Hospital Centre’s ancient origin is to be found in the folds of the history of France, starting with the foundation of the Maison de Charité by Louis XIV in 1684. It was transformed into a Royal Hospital by Louis XV in 1720, quickly making it available to all the inhabitants of Versailles. In 1781 Louis XVI started enlarging it to increase the number of beds available. In 1822 Napoleon assigned new land to the hospital to further increase its accommodation capacity. In 1858, the building became the Versailles Civil Hospital. Then, after numerous enlargements and the opening of new departments, the Centre was moved to Le Chesnay in 1981. In 2016, the Yvelines Sud Local Hospital Group (GHT) was created with the Versailles Hospital Centre as a supporting site. Finally, in 2019, the Versailles Hospital Centre was made the leader of the hospital group, consisting of the Centre itself, the Plaisir Hospital Centre, the Le Vésinet Hospital and the Les Aulnettes EHPAD (Établissement d'hébergement pour personnes âgées dépendantes, a residential care home for dependent elderly people) at Viroflay.

Claudio Levorato, Chairman of the Rekeep Group, commented: “The trust placed in us by a player of primary standing such as the Versailles Hospital Centre, which has acknowledged elements of differentiation in our offer compared to the major French and international operators in the Facility Management sector, is a new important recognition at international level of our experience and competencies in sectors and markets with higher added value with a strong know-how.”
