The Rekeep Group enters the Uzbek market
New consortium contract for the design, construction, and operation of a hospital under a Public-Private Partnership model
The Rekeep Group announces the finalisation, through its subsidiary Rekeep World, of a consortium contract for the design, construction and operation of a hospital in Uzbekistan, in the Fergana region.
The contract, awarded by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the country’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, has a duration of 20 years and a total value attributable to the Group of approximately Euro 80 million.
The consortium that was awarded the concession, following a tender process in which 10 international groups of companies took part, comprises, in addition to Rekeep World, the Saudi company Vision International Investment Company and the Uzbek firm Construction Mechanical Electricc LLC Fe.
Under the contract, the Rekeep Group will provide, without any equity investment, maintenance services, plant management services and medical equipment services (MES), ensuring the highest standards of safety and clinical quality. The provision of these services is scheduled to begin in 2029, upon the expected completion of construction works.
The overall project involves the construction and operation of the new multidisciplinary hospital in Fergana under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The new facility will have a capacity of approximately 800 beds and will be equipped with modern medical technologies in line with the highest international standards. It will replace five currently operating healthcare facilities, improving resource efficiency, service quality and patient access to advanced medical treatments, including cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and organ transplants.
The operation represents a further significant milestone in the Group’s international growth, thereby strengthening its expansion strategy in key markets such as Uzbekistan, particularly within the healthcare sector. The new hospital is, in fact, a pilot PPP project in the healthcare sector, designed to establish a successful, replicable model for the development of modern medical complexes in other regions of the country.
Claudio Levorato, Chairman of Rekeep S.p.A., commented: “Taking part in this major project represents a significant milestone for Rekeep in the international healthcare sector and marks the Group’s entry into a fast-growing market such as Uzbekistan, which is set to see significant investments in the modernisation of healthcare facilities in the coming years. The project also serves as a further exemplary model of Public-Private Partnership, enabling the provision of high-quality hospital services to the population, supported by advanced technologies, whilst simultaneously enhancing private investment through efficiency and quality in service management.”
